Hungary vignette validity and fines
When does it activate?
- All listed e-matrica products can start immediately once the plate is registered in the NUSZ system.
- The 1-day vignette expires at 23:59 on the purchase day, so a late purchase gives fewer driving hours.
What if you're caught?
- 1.ANPR camera or roadside control checks the plate.
- 2.The operator issues a substitute toll notice (potdij).
- 3.Unpaid cases can escalate to a higher administrative fine.
